Thank you for your generosity in making Match Day one of our community’s most impactful giving events. Because of your support, more than $2.1 million has been distributed to local charities during the past two Match Day celebrations.

During the 2025 Match Day celebration at the Sidney High School, you helped generate $1,309,548 for 32 participating charities, exceeding the previous year’s total by more than $143,000. The following year’s event, held in March 2026, resulted in $887,430 in gifts supporting 30 charities while also marking the 10th Match Day since the event began.

“Grateful and inspiring are two words that fit Match Day,” said Jordan Knepper, Donor Relations Director for the Community Foundation. “Thank you to every person, civic group, and business that contributed. Your generosity supports organizations that serve people throughout Shelby County and helps strengthen the community we all call home.”

Each year, the impact of Match Day grows because donors step forward to support both the charities they care about and the matching pool that multiplies those gifts. The Match Pool was funded by longtime supporter Dave Ross along with Evelyn Bensman, Nick and Mary Bensman, Ed Borchers, John and Julia Frantz, Dave and Ann Monnier, the John and Jeanette Sargeant Family Foundation, and Ken and Brenda Schlater.

“This giving event is possible because generous people believe in coming together for good,” said Marian Spicer, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “Their leadership inspires others to give and strengthens the work of charities across Shelby County.”

The 2026 event also marked the first Match Day held in March after the Community Foundation moved the event from its traditional timing near the end of the year. The change allows charitable gifts to reach local organizations sooner and gives donors another opportunity early in the year to support the causes they care about most.

Thanks to you, our donors throughout the community, Match Day continues to grow in both participation and impact, supporting the local nonprofits that serve Shelby County every day.
