The Botkins Education Foundation will be participating in Match Day again this year. Opportunities to contribute toward our goal begin on November 7 and end on December 2. Our focus this year is to support the school’s initiative to provide more technology access for students.

As of this year, all students in grades 7-12 have a school-provided Chromebook. Our Match Day goal this year is to provide funds to purchase Chromebooks for next year’s seventh graders ($15,000), plus additional Chromebooks for in-school availability for elementary students ($30,000).

This year’s one-to-one Chromebook initiative for grades 7-12 has already had a positive impact on our students’ education. Here’s what staff members are saying…

“Going one-to-one with Chromebooks has made learning smoother and more engaging in my classroom.

Students always have their digital notebooks right at their fingertips in full color – no more lost papers or forgotten homework. Plus, I’ve gained extra class time to give students even more learning.

“Students having their own Chromebooks has not only preserved instructional time, but it has also allowed greater flexibility in accessing student resources and varied assessment types.”

“Increased access to technology allows teachers to expose students to a multitude of programs and applications that better prepare our students for the future workforce.”

Providing Chromebooks for next year’s seventh graders and giving even more access to technology for elementary students will further increase educational opportunities for Botkins’ students.
