Match Day dollars will help support the YMCA Child Development Center, where toddlers and preschoolers build essential early childhood skills in a nurturing, supportive environment. Through intentional, developmentally appropriate activities, children strengthen their social and emotional development, early literacy, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Our dedicated teachers help prepare young learners for kindergarten and beyond—building a foundation for academic success, positive relationships, and lifelong learning.
Match Day support also ensures that all Shelby County residents have access to essential programs such as LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA—a free, 12-week, research-based program that helps cancer survivors regain physical strength and emotional confidence through safe, supportive fitness sessions—and Total Health for Parkinson’s, a wellness program designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease to improve balance, mobility, and overall quality of life. Beyond physical benefits, these and other Y programs foster connection, support, and hope. Participants of all ages often find strength not just through structured programming, but through the friendships and encouragement of others on a similar journey. For many, these experiences become a vital part of their personal growth—providing purpose, joy, and a renewed sense of belonging.
