Mercy Mission House started providing shelter to those in our community experiencing homelessness in 2022. Since opening, Mercy Mission House has been able to provide over 875 people with a safe, warm place to lay their head at night. But, MMH is much more than a warm place to sleep.
Mercy Mission House’s Resident Program meets each individual where they are upon entry. From assessing their mental and physical health needs to helping heal the whole individual with access to food, spiritual opportunities, to finding employment and eventually housing.
How Match Day Helps
Community Foundation of Shelby County’s Match Day provides an opportunity for our generous Shelby County community to double their impact (up to the first $5,000 donated).
In order for residents to have the support network and guidance on how to best move forward, Mercy Mission House leans on the compassion of our 24/7 staff to care for our residents and provide the safe, supportive environment needed to heal. Program staffing is the biggest cost for most nonprofits. Many grants do not allow for staffing costs to be included in the grant.
Why Your Donation Matters
Giving to Mercy Mission House through Match Day ensures our most vulnerable Shelby County brothers, sisters and children will have the support so many have lacked throughout their life. Mercy Mission House residents and staff continue to look after each other, support each other and guide each other throughout the journey to a new pathway forward. A different kind of life where hope, mercy, and love are the cornerstones for change.
Together, we can be the hands and feet of our Lord, Jesus Christ, by serving others and doing His will. Through your generosity and God’s love and mercy, we can provide the hand up to lift those experiencing homelessness out of the darkness.
