Supporting Education with a Twist!

You made it possible for the Foundation to award 209 scholarships in 2024. Did you know there are other ways to support educational initiatives in our community?

1959 Sidney High School graduate Scott Spinner recently established a Fund that will benefit the Sidney High School Marching Band each year. The impact music had on Scott’s life, including where he met his wife, inspired him to establish this fund to provide for the future needs of the SHS Marching Band.

The family of Charles Freeman, a former agriculture teacher at Botkins Local School, established the Charles and Kathleen Freeman Botkins FFA Fund, to provide money each year to benefit students in Future Farmers of America at Botkins High School.

Inspired by the memory of her parents, Mary E. Patterson left a gift to the Foundation in her will. Having spent her life seeing both the business side and family side of owning a farm, Mary established the Mary E. Patterson FCCLA & FFA Fund to support participation in events and chapter activities. The fund has awarded more than $45,000 since its inception benefitting FCCLA and FFA students at Houston High School.

Each day the foundation gets to work with generous people like Scott Spinner, the family of Charles and Kathleen Freeman, and Mary E. Patterson. It is your generosity that allows us to do our work.
