We offer three sets of scholarships for graduating high school seniors, college or adult students (at least one year out of high school), and high school seniors or adults pursuing a Skilled Trades education (certificate or up to an associate degree). Each group has an online application.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are three Preliminary Scholarship applications; Current High School Senior, Skilled Training Scholarships, and Current College Student or Adult Scholarships. You will need to complete the appropriate Preliminary Scholarship application to be matched with our scholarship opportunities. Both high school seniors and adults may apply for the Skilled Training Scholarships. 

Some scholarships may require additional information, such as an essay or specific questions pertaining to a scholarship. Even though you are applying using one main scholarship form, you will need to click Submit on all of the scholarships you are applying for in order to be considered. You have the option to complete the questions or decline each opportunity.

Yes, unfortunately scholarships you receive from groups outside your college may affect loans and grants awarded to you by your school or the federal government.

No. We will only accept the Student Aid Index (SAI) number from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa) for our scholarships that have ‘financial need’ stated as a selection criterion.

No. We do not require an ‘official’ transcript.

Scholarships can pay for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction at an accredited educational institution.
The check will be mailed to your school after the follow-up forms on your Applicant Dashboard have been completed in the scholarship portal. It could take several weeks for the school to show your payment in your account.

If you received a scholarship that requires attendance at a specific school or for a certain major and you decided on a different school or major, the scholarship will no longer be available to you.

You will be assigned a follow-up on your Applicant Dashboard in June for each renewal and receive an email with instructions. Contact Juli Smith (jsmith@commfoun.com) if you did not receive an email by July 1.

Yes, we have a growing number of scholarships that are available only to students in college or adults wanting to return to the classroom. The deadline for many of those scholarships are in May each year, so please review our website and apply online.
